Commentary #

The most extreme swing of the fortnight. Wind sat at 53–57% overnight, holding prices in check, then collapsed to 3.9% by 09:30 — and the market answered with €349.44 at 09:00, the single highest price of the entire two weeks. Wind then rebuilt through the afternoon into the high teens and 20s, dragging the day down to a €153.03 trough at 15:00, before climbing again to 34–48% by evening — enough to hold the evening peak to the low 200s despite the demand ramp.

Mean landed at €200.84. A wind collapse timed exactly to the morning peak is the single most expensive thing that can happen in this market — worse than a collapse into the evening, because there’s no afternoon recovery left to soften it before the next ramp.
