Commentary #

Now that’s a midday trough. €37.07 at 13:30, and below €50 from 11:30 to 14:30. Wind at 50% plus Saturday demand (3,743 MW) and there just wasn’t enough load to keep the expensive units in the stack.

It’s a weird day on paper. The peak/off-peak spread is negative (€-41.88) because the “peak” window swallowed that cheap midday while the overnight held €167-€199. The evening still went to €217.54 at 19:00, even with wind above 50%. Demand came back and the price followed.

Mean of €152.40, cheapest day since the 19th. And a €175 cheap/dear spread for anyone with storage.
